Beth Orton Comfort Of Strangers Pop Music CD Review

Comfort Of Strangers is the latest Pop CD put out by the highly talented Beth Orton who once again has delivered a brilliant collection of tracks. I'm confident Beth Orton fans, and Pop fans alike will be pleased with this one.

I wish it weren,t the case but, it's not everyday that I get a CD from an artist that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just can't force myself to get through. Not at all the case with Comfort Of Strangers. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

Comfort Of Strangers is a pleasantly varied, mix of 14 tracks that are very well written songs by this clearly outstanding artist. Most of the songs display a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Seemingly drawing from what I can only imagine are her own personal experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions like love, heartbreak, pain, failed relationships and unattainable romance. They're all here.

One of the refreshingly nice things about this CD is the way all of the participating artists seem to be really enjoying themselves. Combine that with the overall presentation and you've got one of Beth Orton's most impressive releases ever.

This is a first rate CD, delivering a little something for everyone. I give it my highest recommendation. It's quite simply great listening. A must buy if you're even mildly into Pop music.

If you're a Beth Orton fan this is a CD your collection flat cannot be without. In fact, this is one of those CDs that you don't even have to be a fan of Orton, or even Pop to know is good. It's just good music. Period.

While this entire album is really very good the truly standout tunes are track 3 - Heartland Truckstop, track 5 - Comfort Of Strangers, and track 10 - Safe In Your Arms.

My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 6 - Shadow Of A Doubt. Outstanding!

How to use URL Redirection to Make Money

I have found a way to use URL redirection to make very easy money. This technique is perfect for those that want to make an extra buck or for those that want to multiply this system and make some serious cash. First, you need to sign up for a few affiliate programs (I recommend http://ClickBank.com and http://CJ.com). These companies will give you a commission for every sale made through your link.

Find a few products that look appealing and get your affiliate link for them. If you are having problems finding your affiliate link, then contact your affiliate manager. Now you need to create a list of keywords for each product. Use SeoBook(http://tools.seobook.com/general/keyword/) to find some keywords and how many times each one has been searched. I recommend finding about 4-5 keywords and focusing on only them.

Now you will need to create redirections for each of your affiliate links. I use http://7P6.net because they allow me to edit the title/description/keywords and track where my visitors are coming from. Plus, their ads are very minimal and they have a Links Bar that becomes a very important tool when using this tactic (more on that later). Be sure to include some of your keywords in the url, and use slashes to space out the keywords. Example: www.some-keywords-here.xxxx.net.

You will be using this url to earn commissions from your list of products, and the majority of your visitors will come from search engines. So, the search engines will need something to read, right? Therefore, you will need to edit your url Title, Keywords, and Description. Obviously, you can't do this with your regular affiliate links. But you can do this with a good url redirection service like 7P6.net. So get on there and include your 4-5 keywords on the Meta Tag forms in your account.

So, once you have your link created, submit it to MSN, Yahoo, and Google. Here are the direct submission links:

http://search.yahoo.com/info/submit.html
http://beta.search.msn.com/docs/submit.aspx
http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl

Don't worry about any other search engines! Focusing on these will provide you with the most hits. The other search engines will eventually pick up your page anyway.

The last part of this process is to get incoming links to your site (ie: you need other sites linking to your url). The easiest way to build your links is to get on as many forums that allow advertising and post your url on their site. Make sure that you use your keywords in the link. This will directly improve your search engine rankings. And don't forget to use different keywords for each of your postings! Post as much as you can before moving on to the next product. The more posts, the better your search engine ranking. Also, using the link in your signature can help.

Another way to build links is to find link partners (ie: people that will exchange links with you). But it has been impossible to do this with a traditional url redirection website - until now. The redirection service that I use - 7P6.net - allows me to add other peoples links directly to my url via a Links Bar. It helps me build my search engine rankings when I'm starting a new url. And, if I get a decent search engine ranking, it allows me to sell a few extra links on a 'per month' or 'per year' basis via Paypal. This is just a bonus and it is not required to make money with this tactic.

There are a few things to keep in mind when exchanging links. You will find that most of the people you ask will reject you or not even respond. This is all part of link building and it works this way even if you have your own domain name. Be persistent and polite and you will get some link partners. And if you can't get any link partners for a few of your urls, it is likely that you will still rank in the search engines just by posting on forums.

There are two things that make this tactic so effective:

1. You are showing them the home page instead of a sales pitch website or blog.
2. People that view your site will bookmark your redirection page instead of the company page. So when they re-visit, you will still get your commission!
3. It doesn't take much time to create a url. Then you can easily create more and more to recieve a regular flow of commissions.

Here is a real life example:

Lets say I want to promote ink cartriges. The first step would be to create 'cheap-ink-cartriges.7p6.net'. Notice the use of keywords in the title and the slashes used to space out the keywords. Next, submit your link to MSN, Yahoo, and Google.

Then I would make a list of 4 specific ink cartrige keywords: 'buy ink', 'buy ink cartriges', 'cheap ink cartriges', 'cheap printer ink'.

Here is what I would fill out on the Meta Tag forms (notice the use of keywords):

----------------------------------------------
Title: Buy Cheap Ink Cartriges For Your Printer
Keywords: buy ink, buy ink cartriges, cheap ink cartriges, cheap printer ink
Description: The best website to buy cheap printer ink cartriges.
----------------------------------------------

Next I would add my link on forums that allow me to advertise. Remember, the more posts, the better your search engine ranking.

Here is an example posting:

Here is the best website to buy cheap ink cartriges.

One thing to keep in mind is that it is 10X easier to get hits from MSN and Yahoo than to worry about Google! Also, Be Patient! It takes time to get listed and while you are waiting, you need to be creating more pages. More pages = more money. You may not make millions doing this, but this is some easy automated money and you can work as little or as much as you want.

TIP: Create multiple urls to promote a single product. This way you can focus on more keywords and get more hits to your affiliate link!

You can also make money by creating a website on a free host and promote multiple products in a single category. It is still recommended that you create a different redirected url for each page on your site to receive the most search engine traffic. You could also monetize your url with Google Adsense and Adbrite by using a free host and a redirected url for each page.

I hope you decide to use url redirection to make some cash. This is one of the only 100% free ways to make money online. Good luck.

You'll Never Get A Date Without Following Up!

The same goes for the sale and the big profits.

Are you single, or do you remember when you were single?

If someone gave you their number and asked for you to go out then you called didn't you?

And if you REALLY wanted to go out with them you may have called several times?

When you went out on the date it was here that you decided if you wanted to see more of them or not and if you did that's when you entered the human follow up phase.

You dated more and more and each time you both got to know a little bit more about each other and the trust and friendship started to form.

After a while one things leads to another and mother nature takes over and, well you know the rest.

And if you don't then your follow up process needs some work!

Joking aside, business is like courtship, especially online people won't always buy from you the first time they come across your website.

You need to build up that relationship and trust using a systemised follow up process that covers the 6 critical elements you should be using and incorporating into your follow process.

1) You MUST understand that all successful marketing depends on getting the right message to the right market at the right time.

Simple?

Not always, I see many examples of companies who are following up with their customers (at least that's a positive) but the messages they send are completely off topic to what the customer is interested in OR at the complete wrong time in the customers buying cycle.

For example, have you ever received a mailing about car insurance months after you already renewed it?

Keep your follow ups timely, on topic and relevant. If you can tie in events or outside themes then do so BUT make them relevant and on time.

2) There are three types of leads in business that you will be following up with

i) Those who are hot to buy now. Yes you will have these types of customers who are in the buying zone now and may even buy on the first visit to your website; BUT please realise that they are few in number so don't rely on them for your income.

ii) Those who are warm and in the market for a purchase but aren't sure where to buy from or they may need some further information to make a buying decision.

Warm leads will make up the vast majority of your eventual customers and it is warm leads that your systemised follow up process will turn into buyers IF you get the message and timing right.

iii) Cold leads or as they are called in the 'real' world, tyre kickers.

However even tyre kickers can become warm leads and customers with the right follow up process.

Remember there was a reason a tyre kicker came to your website or business; they may just be browsing BUT with a good follow process in place, that provides them with useful information, when they're ready to buy YOU will be prominent in their mind.

3) Customers will buy when they are ready and not when you are ready to sell.

Despite our best efforts customers will ultimately make a purchase decision when they are ready, it is our job as marketers to give them the reason to buy from us at that time.

We have on numerous occasions seen new customers buy from us or join our membership sites after being in our follow process for months and in some cases years.

Without that consistent follow up we would never had converted them to paying customers.

4) The ideal situation is to have your customers come to you and not for you to go chasing after them.

This is what I call pull instead of push marketing.

With push you are effectively pushing your information out to them interrupting what they are doing and being the salesman.

With pull marketing you are drawing them into your business by using subtle methods such as affiliate recommendations from your partners, submitting articles that your customers find through their own web searches and word of mouth (via email) recommendations.

Customer who come to your website via what they perceive as their own 'steam' and leave their name and email details for you to keep in touch and follow up are far more receptive than those who have responded to push marketing.

5) Don't let your database become a graveyard

You MUST and I mean MUST have an active database; unlike a fine wine your database doesn't get better with age and it WILL go off if you don't keep following up with your customers and prospects in it.

Start to segment your database into buyers and prospects and then target your follow ups to them.

Set up new autoresponders on specific topics and invite people to sign up for them as well.

Keep your database active and alive!

6) Educate, educate, educate.

Smart marketers take the time to educate their customers and prospects and not just about their products an services.

They take the time to educate them on what to do when an email or letter goes out, how often to expect them. Plus, and this is important, they educate them on their sales process.

Where to order, how to order, what payment methods are accepted, how goods are delivered and what to do if they have any questions.

One more point that has become very relevant in today's multi media world, vary your messages.

I don't mean vary your information but vary how you put your message across to your customers and prospects.

Rather than keep sending out email after email, why not include a video update or an audio MP3 they can listen to online or download?

If you're a pure online marketer start collecting full postal address details and intersperse your follow ups with a letter.

Conclusion

Follow up is the key to a successful and long lasting business. Develop that relationship with your customers and prospects and implement your own systematic follow up process as soon as possible.
